Project Information
83 Walker Street in Tribeca is Architect Morris Adjmi’s latest show piece. This 9 story 19,000 square foot building, which had to seek City Planning approval as it is slightly higher than zoning allowed; is being built by Abra Construction Corp and is supposedly inspired by Rachel Whiteread’s “House” with its unique concrete facade resembling that of a downtown cast iron building. The development consists of a duplex first and lower floor apartment as well as eight full floor apartments above. It features multiple framing materials including mahogany wood faux double hung tilt turn windows, awning windows, hopper windows and fixed units on the front facade; and aluminum tilt turn and out swing doors on the rear facade. All front facade units are landmark approved to integrate with historic district of Tribeca.
